Trained as an architect at the University of Bath, England, and in urban planning at Harvard University, Iftekhar Ahmed Khan brings international experience from Nigeria, England, and the United States, including development projects in Oklahoma and Texas.
Returning to Bangladesh in 1987, he entered the real estate sector and founded Bay Developments Ltd. in 1995. Under his leadership, Bay has become a respected name in Dhaka’s high-end residential and commercial real estate, recognized for design innovation, sustainability, professional standards, and a strong commitment to compliance.
He endowed Edge The Foundation, a non-profit initiative that seeks to integrate art and culture with education and learning, supporting creativity, intellectual engagement, and opportunities for the next generation.
Mr. Khan’s career has been shaped by architecture, design, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to building institutions with lasting impact.
Over the years, Mr. Khan has also helped shape InterStudio, Bay Engineering & Construction, and Bay Services - together forming the design, construction, and service foundations of Bay.

Practical Action In Bangladesh
Ishrat Shabnam is a distinguished humanitarian and international development professional with 21 years of experience in strategic leadership, policy dialogue, programme design and delivery, partnership development, and donor management across Bangladesh, South Asia, and the United Kingdom. She currently serves as the Country Director of Practical Action in Bangladesh. She is also part of the Asia Regional Management Team of the organization.
Throughout her career, Ishrat has held senior roles with CARE, Practical Action Consulting, Christian Aid, the World Bank-supported Investment Promotion and Financing Facility Project, Bangladesh Bank, and Grameenphone. Her expertise spans inclusive economic development, agricultural market systems, renewable energy, climate change, WASH, social protection, governance, gender equality, livelihoods, entrepreneurship development, research, and advocacy.
She has managed programmes supported by the European Commission, USAID, UKAid, the World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, IOM, the Scottish Government, and other international partners.
Previously, Ishrat worked as Programme Manager for Private Sector Development at the European Union Delegation to Bangladesh, where she managed major portfolios in social protection and green energy transition. Her responsibilities included overseeing a €247 million budget support programme, facilitating high-level policy dialogue, and commissioning strategic studies on green investment, energy efficiency, and rooftop solar.

Md. Akhteruzzaman Bhuiyan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Real Estate Division at United Group, one of Bangladesh’s leading conglomerates. In this role, he leads the strategic growth of United Real Estate, overseeing its sales operations and premium property development portfolio, with a focus on building long-term value across the business.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Bhuiyan served as Director of Sales & Marketing for the Real Estate Division of United Group, where he led commercial leasing and luxury residential ventures. Earlier, as General Manager at United Properties, he developed a broad understanding of the property business, building experience across its commercial and residential operations.
His career in real estate is complemented by more than a decade of experience in the multinational banking sector. At HSBC Bangladesh, he held leadership positions including Branch Manager within the Retail Banking and Wealth Management division. This experience gave him a strong foundation in financial management, customer relationships and business operations, which he later brought to the property sector.
Today, Mr. Bhuiyan brings together these two areas of expertise, combining a disciplined financial perspective with a deep understanding of the property market. His leadership is focused on translating United Real Estate’s scale and experience into thoughtfully planned developments, commercially sound ventures and enduring value for customers and stakeholders.
As United Real Estate enters its next phase of growth, he is focused on strengthening the business while shaping developments that respond to the evolving needs of modern urban life.

Anwesha Majumder is the Regional Head of Community, PMI South Asia, leading one of PMI’s fastest-growing communities. She works closely with 11+ chapters across South Asia-enabling collaboration , and strategizing member engagement.
With over 15 years of experience spanning stakeholder engagement, community building, and business development, Anwesha brings a strong focus on building high-impact, volunteer-led communities that drive sustained value for members.
Her professional journey reflects a unique blend of grassroots insight and global exposure—from starting as a school teacher in a marginalized community in India to working with institutions such as the British Council, the Netherlands Consulate, Piramal Foundation, and the Queensland Government as Director of Research and Partnerships—building partnerships that bridge ecosystems across sectors and geographies.
A strong advocate for inclusive and purpose-driven change, Anwesha combines community leadership with a deep personal commitment to social impact.

Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka
Dr. Khaled Mahmud is a Professor at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and a programme leader with over two decades of experience turning complex, multi-stakeholder mandates into delivered outcomes.
He currently serves as Chief Coordinator of the IBA–SICIP project, an ADB-funded national initiative training 1,200 mid- to senior-level RMG executives, having earlier led its predecessor, IBA–SEIP. Across engagements funded by the World Bank, ADB, UNDP and USAID, he has worked with the ICT Division, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, BIDA, BTRC, and others. He moderates the ACMP 4.0 and CXO Strategy Conclave programmes for the technology industry. He was engaged in consultancy and training for Unilever, Siemens, YKK, Sena Kalyan and many others.
He holds a PhD in Information Technology on FinTech ecosystems, an MBA in Finance from Bentley University as a Fulbright Business Fellow, an MBA from IBA, and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET.

Previously, he served as Supply Chain Director of Coats Sri Lanka and Coats Bangladesh, Chief Operating Officer of Sanmar Group, and National Consultant–Supply Chain Advisor to UNDP.

Step 1:
Nominees must complete and submit the online nomination within timeline via the PMI Bangladesh Project Management Awards 2026

Step 2:
Selected nominees will participate in an online grooming
session conducted by the Bangladesh Chapter on a scheduled date, which will be
announced later.
Step 3:
At this stage, nominees are required to respond to a set of
questions and provide supporting documents and project artifacts, such as the
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedules, cost estimates, quality and risk
management plans, progress reports, change management documentation,
procurement strategies and records, as well as staffing and communication
plans.
Step 4:
Applications will then undergo final evaluation,
validation, and interviews by a distinguished panel of jury members of national
repute. The Bangladesh Chapter will announce the final results, including
winners and runners-up, on 26 September 2026.
An “Awards Evaluation Committee 2026” will be established this year to independently oversee and ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of the award evaluation process. The committee will be led by a Chair and supported by multiple Co-Chairs, with at least one Chair / Co-Chair assigned to a specific Jury Board group to ensure effective monitoring and coordination.
The committee will be responsible for maintaining the quality of evaluations at every stage of the process, including question-and-answer sessions and presentations, ensuring fairness, adherence to timelines, quality of delivery, and consistency in judgment. Accordingly, the number of Co-Chairs will be aligned with the number of Jury Board groups to ensure adequate coverage.
All Jury Board evaluations will be submitted directly to the Awards Evaluation Committee. In addition, designated representatives from the committee will also provide independent assessments. The final decisions at each stage will be made by consolidating all evaluations and applying expert judgment to ensure fairness and transparency.
The committee will also be responsible for reviewing all evaluations and formally publishing the results at each stage of the assessment process.
Director, Program & Sponsorship will also be assigned as a liaison officer from the Chapter to facilitate smooth communication and coordination between the Awards Evaluation Committee and relevant stakeholders throughout the evaluation process.
The program is administered by PMI Bangladesh Chapter.
